Default Can't open the downloaded archive. :(

Hi. I was looking for a simple and straight to the point web directory script, paid or not. Most of what I've found, is way too feature-rich for me. I wanted to make a really simple web directory, like DMOZ (just an example for its layout ).

Some minutes ago, I found the Site-Sift Listings script from the footer of a directory which really looked like what I wanted to achieve, and thought of having a look.

A disappointment thought: The downloaded archive won't open. I'm using Ubuntu, and the Archive Manager complains;

Quote:
error: expected central file header signature not found (file #25).
(please check that you have transferred or created the zipfile in the
appropriate BINARY mode and that you have compiled UnZip properly)

Is there a possible solution (such as, e-mailing me a 'better' archive or something?) or I'm off to find a nice directory script again?

It sounds like either your download was corrupted or you compiled unzip wrong like the message says. Try downloading and unzipping it again. It really is a piece of cake to get going with this directory

I have the same problem.

Today I installed version 1.31 and unpacked the file OK, but version 1.32 does not unpack.

Regards.

I didn't compile UnZip myself; it's the default decompression tool in my distro. Plus, I've unzipped many other files before. So that's not a problem, certainly. The server should send the file in BINARY mode (at least this is what the decompress complains about) but it sends it in ASCII, as it seems.

Is there a solution to this? Can someone please send me the archive, or maybe site-sift fixes this? It's a shame; you can't even download the script to try it out.

We've just updated the files, there appears to have been a problem with the file. Please try downloading again. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
