Testing 1, 2, 3
We will be running a test to see how fast we can get first page rankings in MSN. This is not for a two or three keyword phrase but for a very, very competitive one-word phrase. It's arguably the most competitive keyword on the whole net.
Anyway, I will let you know when it starts and I will track the progress in this thread.

With enough links it used to be VERY fast. When MSN first came out of beta, I was able to get some competitive number 1's inside of a month (usually less). They also indexed like crazy.
These days they seem to have slowed (Which I predicted from the beggining - Make it easy to get indexed and rank, it creates a buzz amongst webmasters to get them to switch from worshipping Google)
I typically get 2-3,000 pages a week indexed off my article submission site in Google while MSN is lucky to add a 100 a week.

What are some of the most competitive words?
Maybe:
SEO
Porn (He said one word as free porn is probably more competitive)
Casino
Poker
Mesothialoma (Can't spell it but its competetive)
Any more guesses?

Our site got indexed today in MSN. I will report on the SERP as it climbs it way to the top.

I cant wait!!!!!!!! Everyone here sounds excited to start optimizing for that special keyword!!!! Hey, I will bet that it takes less than i month for it to rank #1 in MSN and another question?? How long do we have and is there a cut off date????  |
