Actually, I wouldn't recommend paying $300 per annum for a Yahoo entry.
Yahoo can be difficult to get indexed in. It often takes up to 6 months to get fully listed. While a Yahoo listing can speed that up, I've found that blogging and adding an RSS feed is a cheaper alternative!
Another effective solution is to get a PR 7 link to your home page for a month or so.
Also I've heard of someone who paid the Yahoo subscription for a year, didn't renew and was right back to homepage only a few weeks later. A one-off case doesn't make it a rule, but it's worth thinking about.
